A More Perfect Union

Hat tip: World Net Daily.

You know, I wouldn’t be so haughty if I were the one speaking for a system with a 67% sucess rate

I’d comment further, but I’m too demented to. I think I’ll go hide in my Mom’s closet.

Oops, I don’t have time to today. I have to finish up my college classwork so I can graduate this semester with my Associate’s Degree at the same time I’m graduating from (home) high school. Rats.

BB-Idaho says:

Whether homeschool, private school, or public school we turn out kids that range from practically illiterate to over-acheiving scholars. IMO, it depends more on the kid than the system. Mine were public schooled and went on to 2 PhDs in the sciences and an MA in medieval history. I know some very bright homeschooled kids as well as some poorly educated ones..just like the range we see in the public schools. IMO, ridiculing homeschooling is just like the homeschool folk ridiculing public education. There are advantages and disadvantages either way….

Mary Ann says:

Well, I don’t think that every child who goes to public school is poorly educated, but there are serious issues with the system as a whole… it does depend on the individual child, and I’ve also met homeschoolers who haven’t had a good education, but they’re outside of the norm from what I’ve seen and from what I’ve read.

Bob says:

How many home schoolers does JB actually kniw, to make a comment like that?
Obviously way more mouth than brains, elitist B***H

Mary Ann says:

Hey, no need to be rude. I’ve known people who have homeschooled for the wrong reasons, or not homeschooled well – and while I would definitely argue that they are the exception, not the rule, and that homeschooling is usually much better than public school, bad homeschool situations do occur sometimse. Please be nicer next time you leave a comment.

I don’t believed I watched that entire video, Mary Ann. I detest “The View”! But I read what you wrote then had to watch the dang thing in order to figure out why you were talking about hiding in your mom’s closet! LOL!

What Joy said is one of the reasons I don’t enjoy the veiw. It was a very ignorant statement with no thought behind it whatsoever.

Mary Ann says:

I really can’t stand The View either. The women on there drive me crazy, and you’re right – it was very ignorant of her.

Andrew Pantazi says:

Joy had a legitimate reason to say what she said. She probably only knows one homeschooler, Whoopi Goldberg. She probably meant to say “although, I do not mean to generalize but from my past experiences with homeschoolers, homeschoolers are demented.” (i.e. Whoopi Goldberg is demented and Joy is an idiot).
